Know Your Wedding Dress Necklines!

From strapless to bateau to Queen Anne to cowl, there are so many wedding gown necklines to choose from! While we highly recommend trying on dresses with different necklines to figure out which suits you best, it’s important to know the terminology and definition behind each one. Here are the most widely-seen necklines with photo examples:

V-Neck

This neckline dips into a v-shape in the front. Often a slimming style on many body types.

Square

Like its name indicates, this neckline (mostly seen on gowns featuring straps or sleeves) creates a square shape across the upper chest.

High Neck

A neckline that’s similar in appearance to a turtleneck.

Bateau

Also known as a boatneck, this neckline features a wider opening at the neck.
